Joan Moore - 433A1

Joan Moore was born December 11, 1937 to Woodrow and Marjorie Wilson, probably in Bay Minette, Alabama.  That seems appropriate because Bay Minette is just next door to Hurricane, Alabama and she and the world around her were often a swirl of activity.  Her parents did not get along and somewhere in her teens, Marjorie moved with daughters Joan and Betty to Oceanside, California.

That’s where Marjorie married Ernest Frazee. Although she didn’t end up taking his surname, Joannie told me that with everything that happened in her childhood, she came to love her step-father and adopted grandmother, Gladys “Gram” Frazee, and would visit the house on Stewart St. in Oceanside quite a lot.

Her marriage to Tommy Leonard was not long, but from it she had her only child, Bill.  Soon after their split, she married Wayne Moore and the two have embarked on a near 60 year adventure, including long trips, scuba diving, and Model A Fords.

Unfortunately, after acquiring several ailments throughout the last decade, including most recently, the coronavirus, Joan gave up the ghost, January 13, 2021.

She is survived by her husband Wayne, her son Bill Moore and his wife Candice, her grandsons Jeremy (Candy) and Adam, and one great grandchild, Karma, and two adopted great, grandchildren, Byron and Emily.
